A Great Falls attorney said Thursday that Town Pump has settled a civil lawsuit filed after static electricity sparked a 2005 fire. Town Pump sued Misty Rae Hopkins after the Safety Relief Valves fire caused more than $23,000 in damage to Town Pump property. Hopkins then countersued fuel retailer. The fire engulfed Hopkins' vehicle and damaged the Instrument Manifolds pump and a canopy at the fueling station. Another person near the gas pump came to Hopkins' aid. Hopkins' 2-year-old daughter, who was in the vehicle, was rescued and not injured, Best said.
